Results Of Latest Pre Season Friendlies

As we eagerly await the fourth edition of the new Indian Super League (ISL) season scheduled to commence on November 17th, we find out the results of the recent round of friendlies.

On Friday the 24th ISL outfit Bengaluru FC defeated I-League side East Bengal 3-1 at Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru. This particular match used to be one of the most talked about fixtures of the I-League in the past, that was until Bengaluru FC joined the Indian Super League (ISL) bandwagon, putting an end to the teams facing each other in competitive football this time round.

During this match winger Udanta Singh was the star for Bengaluru FC, scoring a brace, while Miku added the third goal for the hosts. Trinidad & Tobago striker Willis Plaza scored East Bengal’s lone goal in the game.

In the earlier reverse match two days previously the the game ended 1-1 with goals from Surabuddin Mallick and Miku.

The Kerala Blasters have returned from a preseason tour of Spain, where they spent time at Marbella Football Centre, playing four matches during their four week stay.

They got off a good start with a 1-0 win over Athletic de Coin on the 11th October, but then drew their following game a week later against Juventud Torremolinos. On the 23rd the Blasters were once again back to winning ways after a 2-0 victory over Real Balompedica Linense, before a 3-0 defeat to Marbella FC 3 days later.

East Bengal have emerged as the favourites for ISL outfits to play will now be travelling to Pune and Goa to play two more friendly matches against ISL sides FC Pune City and FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC.

The first match of the new season kicks off in just over two weeks between the Kerala Blasters and ATK at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi.
