Match Day 3 of the Indian Super League was played out last week, with five matches taking place.
The match between Goa FC and Bengaluru FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Thursday 30th November was a thrilling match that ended 4-3 to the home side.
Hero of the match Coro scored a hat-trick for Goa in the 16th, 33rd and 63rd minute, while Manuel Lanzarote also scored for Goa from a 40th-minute penalty.
Miku scored a brace for the visitors in the 20th and 60th minute and Erik Paartalu scored their 3rd in the 57th minute with a header.
This was Goa’s second win of the season and first at home, something coach Sergio Lobera was happy with.
“I’m very happy with the three points, especially against Bengaluru FC who I said previously are very strong. These three points are just part of the journey,” he said.
“We need to improve a lot with what we’re doing, particularly because we allowed a team with 10 men to come back from a two-goal deficit.”
Jamshedpur FC and Atletico de Kolkata played out a goalless draw on Friday 1st December at a packed newly vamped JRD Tata Sports Complex.
The third match between Delhi Dynamos and NorthEast United ended with a 2-0 defeat to the the home side at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi in their first home game of the season and their second consecutive loss.
Marcinho (Marcio de Souza) scored the opener in the 17tth minute with a left footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal. Danilo Cezario scored the 2nd 5 minutes later with a right footed shot.
The final match on Sunday 3rd December was between Pune City and Chennaiyin FC and ended in a 1-0 defeat to Pune at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex.
Chennai skipper Henrique Sereno’s late header proved to be the difference in a game where clear cut chances were few and far between.
