Emirates Club is one of the oldest footballing entities in the UAE. Emirates Club was born in 1969 from the coming together of three smaller teams: Al Ittihad, Al Ahly, and Al Shaab. They went through several name changes over the years before the variation ‘Emirates Club’ came into existence. This happened on 29th May 2011, when Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr al-Qassimi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi, chairpersons of Emirates and Ras Al Khaimah Club, respectively, decided to merge their squads into one entity.
Emirates Club became part and parcel of the UAE Pro League in 2021/2022. They finished second in the UAE Division One the previous year, prompting their promotion. They have no cup trophies and, compared to the other teams in the Pro League, are relative newbies to the championship. Nonetheless, they are revered due to the decades that they have spent in the UAE football arena.
Notable players for Emirates Club include Ahmad Essa Juma, Ali Mustafa, and Joseph Guédé Gnadou.
