It was yet another disappointing draw for the Delhi Dynamos and FC Pune City on Thursday at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, as both sides tried to pick up their Indian Super League campaign but remained stuck on the points table.
The Dynamos had dominated most of the game, but it was their lack of finishing that forced them to come from behind to end the game with their third consecutive home game draw.
It was FC Pune who rustled the goal-netting first much against the run of play, as a cross from Rahul Bheke found Jesus Tato in the dying moments of the first half. His looping header dipped into the back of the net.
Delhi were finally rewarded for their persistent efforts in the 79th minute after Milan Singh scored his first ISL goal, after he took a first time shot from a free kick to drill the ball in the corner of the goal.
On Friday, Atletico de Kolkata came from behind to score twice during the second half for a 2-1 victory against NorthEast United at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium.
Emiliano Alfaro opened the scoring in the ‘East India derby’ for the hosts in the 39th minute with his fifth of the season. Nirmal Chettri’s cross from the right caught Arnab napping as he ducked down too early and the Uruguayan made no mistake with his header in.
After the break Atletico brought on Postiga for Sam Atletico and his presence had an immediate affect, tilting the game in favour of the visitors.
The former Portugal international scored the equaliser in the 63rd minute. An unmarked Lalrindika Ralte sent a perfect cross for Postiga who beat his NorthEast counterpart, Didier Zokora, to head it home his first goal of the season.
The winning goal came from Belencoso who tapped in a Ralte cross onto an empty goal.
