Al Ain Information

Al Ain FC are the number one team in the UAE Pro League with 13 league titles under their belt. The club are nicknamed ‘The Boss’ and are by some distance the region’s most successful football club. The team’s home ground is the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, which is one of the most technologically advanced venues in the Middle East. This state-of-the-art facility was constructed in 2014 according to the requirements of FIFA and holds 25,053 spectators.

There are two other stadiums utilized by the club: Tahnoun Bin Mohamed Stadium (15,000) and Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium. The latter has been renovated to accommodate 12,000 spectators.

The team’s home kit colors are purple and black, while players wear a white and purple kit for away matches. Former Ukrainian top striker Serhiy Rebrov is the team’s manager.

Al Ain History

Al Ain are part of the Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club. The latter was founded in 1968. The club, which is chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, is dedicated to promoting sports on local and international fronts.

The team’s first appearance in the UAE Pro League was in the 1975/1976 season, where they finished in second place behind Al Ahli. They emerged as league winners in the following year’s championship, taking home the title for the first time. They have won a total of 13 UAE Pro League titles.

As well as their achievements in the Pro League, the team have a record 12 Arabian Gulf League titles, six UAE President’s Cups, four Super Cups, four Federation Cups, six Arabian Gulf Cups, and one Arabian Gulf Club Cup. In 2003, Al Ain became the first and only club to win the AFC Champions League.

Some of their most notable players are Khalid Eisa, Yahia Nader, and Jonatas Santos. Bruno Metsu is Al Ain’s most successful coach, having won four trophies during his time at the club.
