Ajman Information

Ajman Club are a football team that plays in the UAE. They came back to the UAE Pro League from relegation in 2017 after finishing at the top of the UAE First Division. This Emirati football club has never finished top of the UAE Pro League table but is giving rival teams a run for their money. They are nicknamed ‘The Orange Brigade’ for their orange-color home kit.

The team play their home matches at Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium, which is also known as Ajman Stadium. The ground was opened in 1984, and the facilities are still standing strong. This venue holds up to 5,537 spectators.

Ajman play in an all-white kit when on duties away from home. The team also has a black-colored kit that is worn as an alternative to the first two. The current head coach is the Serbian Goran Tufegdžić, who has led teams such as Al-Wakrah and the Kuwait national football team.

Ajman History

Ajman was established back in 1974, with the 10th ruler of the Emirate of Ajman standing as the chairman. The team took part in the first-ever season of the UAE Pro League in 1973/1974, but they crashed out. They have never won the coveted title and have been moving between the UAE Pro League and the First Division since then. Nonetheless, they have other trophies to their name.

Ajman won the UAE First Division League in 2016/2017, the UAE Vice President’s Cup in 2010, and the UAE League Cup in 2013. Another notable achievement for the club was winning the championship of the UAE President’s Cup in 1983/1984.

Some of the notable footballers who have played for Ajman include winger Vander Vieira and forward Yorleys Mena. Abdul Wahab Abdul Qadir is Ajman’s most successful manager.
