Indian Super League Match Day 8 Result

The Kerala Blasters ended their 2017 with a 1-3 loss to their South Indian rivals Bengaluru FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi to kick off Match Day 8.

The visitors who were favourites won by a comfortable scoreline, after a brace from prolific Miku and spot-kick from skipper Sunil Chhetri secured all three points and took them to 3rd on the ISL table.

On Thursday Kerala Blasters held FC Pune City to a 1-1 draw at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.

Pune City outplayed the Blasters in the first half in every way, before finally going ahead in the 33rd minute through their talisman Marcelinho, before the hosts equalised in the 73rd minute through Mark Sifneos.

Jamshedpur FC ended their goal drought at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in a 2-2 draw with Mumbai City FC on Friday.

Thiago Santos put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute before Nigerian striker Izu Azuka scored two late goals in the first-half to give the hosts a 2-1 lead going into the break.

Thiago ensured the visitors took 1 point away by levelling up midway through the second half.

Saturday’s game saw NorthEast United stun FC Goa 2-1 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium and snap a four-match losing streak.

The Highlanders took the lead in the 21st minute through Marcinho’s super first touch finish before Goa’s Manuel Arana equalised 7 minutes later.

The Highlanders snatched back the lead in the 52nd minute through Seiminlen Doungel, with his 2nd goal of the ISL.
