After a two-week international break the Indian Super League (ISL) will resume today (Wednesday), with Delhi Dynamos facing Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
The hosts will enter the game having come off the back of a 1-1 draw against FC Pune City, whilst the visitors have endured back-to-back defeats in their opening two encounters against Kerala Blasters and NorthEast United.
Although ATK have lost their first two games, Gombau believes Dynamos will be made to work hard for three points.
“ATK have a very good squad. I don’t measure the value of a team by their individuals but as a team. Tomorrow (Wednesday) will be a difficult game for us. All the teams in ISL are strong and the games are decided by little things. We need to work hard.”
ATK head coach Steve Coppell said of the forthcoming match: “Over the past 12 days, when we have been training. I certainly got hard work and commitment so I certainly hope we get a response. I always believe you get out what we put in. So we intend to put a lot in and we would like to get a lot out.”
Dynamos’ all-time top scorer Kalu Uche will be returning to the stadium where he had a prolific 2017/18 season and so will be raring to get his ATK career off to a good start.
Daniel Lalhlimpuia has been back in training with the Dynamos after being absent for quite some time following an injury and therefore could play. Midfielder Bikramjit Singh is still a doubtful starter following a calf injury during the match against Pune.
Former Dynamos defender Sena Ralte will miss the clash as he will be serving his suspension after he picked up a yellow card against NorthEast United for a rash challenge.
