Last weekend’s Hero Indian Super League’s match 49 and 50 saw a whole host of goals past the net, as Chennaiyin FC played out a dramatic 3-3 draw with NorthEast United and Delhi Dynamos sank FC Goa 5-1.
NorthEast left it late to clinch a last minute draw during Saturday’s match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Chennai, to hurt Chennaiyin’s chances of qualifying for the ISL play-offs.
Chennaiyin went ahead in the 34th minute through Dudu Omagbemi who was on fire during the match, eventually scoring a hat-trick with further goals in the 45th and 81st minute.
NorthEast came from behind three times with a brace from Nicolas Velez, his first goal in the 38th before equalising again in 51st minute. Shouvik Ghosh scored in stoppage time after he headed home from a corner to earn his side a point.
Marcelinho scored a brace for the Delhi Dynamos to help sink bottom of the table FC Goa 5-1 during Sunday’s game at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
Dynamos fell behind in the 31st minute after Fulganco Cardozo scored his first goal this season, tapping a rebound into an open net, which the Dynamos immediately responded to and just moments later they were on equal footings with the first of Marcelinho’s goals.
The second half saw the hosts start on the front foot and take the lead 3 minutes in with a jaw-dropping strike from distance by Marcelinho. The Brazilian then provided the assist for Gadze who beat the Goa goalie with a clinic finish to make it 3-1.
Marcelinho completed his hat-trick in the 56th minute and a minute later Gadze had scored a brace to give his side the 5-1 lead where the score remained for the final 30 minutes of the game.
After the match Dynamos moved up to second spot on the ISL table.
